Learning How Work Skills Matter on ‘Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day’

Five children of ME&A employees visited ME&A headquarters in Bethesda, Md., on national “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” on Thursday, April 25, 2019. ME&A’s headquarters staff joined 37 million Americans bringing kids to their workplace to learn how each role within an organization contributes to the overall success for staff and the communities they serve.

This year was ME&A’s second time participating in the national program, which started 27 years ago as “Take Our Daughters to Work Day” and became “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” in 2003. The theme for 2019 was “Workforce Development for All,” a theme perfect for the work ME&A employees do using their talents and work skills to contribute to assisting developing and middle income countries around the world.

The young people visiting ME&A were introduced to the ME&A world with an orientation and tour of the offices to see where their parent works and  meet their parent’s colleagues.. ME&A also provided the young people snacks in the morning as well as a pizza lunch along with ME&A backpacks.
